Modelmaking

Modelmaking is our core business with an emphasis on quality and detail.

Taking your design to a three-dimensional state by means of CNC machining, hand fabrication or stereo lithography is what Cornerstone does best.

We cover a wide range of modelmaking capabilities that include quick 3-D mock-ups for evaluation to precision tooling patterns used in production.

Create your own CAD geometry or Cornerstone will create a 3-D design using the latest version of Solidworks or Pro Engineer.

Tooling

Rapid Prototyping

Rapid prototyping has become an important process in the world of product development.

SLA (Stereo Lithography) is one rapid prototyping process that Cornerstone can offer.

SLA models are built using 3-D geometry created by Cornerstone or you the customer.

RTV Molding

Once your design is complete and duplicate models are needed the Cornerstone mold department is ready to protect your original model.

Our facilities are equipped to cast any number of duplicate samples needed for presentations, photography, sales, trade shows, etc.

Urethane Casting

Cornerstone offers several casting materials to achieve your desired results, hard, soft, flexible, opaque, translucent, transparent, frosted and textured.

Castings are then cleaned, fit and assembled by modelmakers in our finishing department.

Painting

Cornerstone Prototype takes the necessary steps to apply a professional spray painted finish.

And our hand-painting department can decorate that great looking model to give it the exceptional look your prototype deserves.

Sculpture

Our in house sculpture department has the ability to create anything from a simple shape to the most highly detailed form.

Working in several mediums including clay, wax, plaster, foam, urethane, metal and wood.

Electronics

We can design and fabricate the electronics for any industrial, medical, consumer, or toy product.

We have expertise in AC controls, heating appliances, motor controls, power conversion, rf/ir remote controls, numerical controls, audio and video equipment design.

We can build and debug your prototypes in-house and provide a complete electronics manufacturing package and release-ready microcontroller code.

Hair Rooting

Specifications Our staff has over 15 years experience in rooting, rerooting, grooming & styling doll heads. We will root your heads to your exact specifications, or we can create styles to match input such as sketches, photos or verbal instructions. We have extensive experience across the spectrum – from creating collector quality licensed product that must be duplicated exact and precise, to concept designs broadly interpreted from a designer’s description We can also supply all necessary production specifications, which can include rooting guides and grooming guides.

Rooting Rigid Skins We have an exclusive process that allows us to root heads that have been cast in a hard material (i.e. urethane, alumalite, etc.). This enables you to evaluate and present product without having to wait for (or pay for) costly roto molded pre-production skins.

Commercial Support We offer doll hair grooming and styling services in support of commercial video shoots, photo shoots, Toy Fair, or any other on-site activity in which hair “finals” are needed.

Production Troubleshooting We offer troubleshooting services for production. We are experienced in dealing with vendors on particularly difficult issues. We have traveled to the Orient to resolve such issues when they arise, and to set up production of unusually complex product.
